Colorado has a somewhat complicated draw system for licenses. Draws must be applied for in March prior to the next fall hunts. However, there are two over-the-counter elk seasons and no over the counter seasons for mule deer. We are offering two-5 day hunts for each of these seasons for elk. We will charge $3,000 for the hunt and $2,000 for a kill fee. We will also include a $1,000 trophy fee for bulls that score 350 points and better. We can accommodate you on a mule deer hunt anytime you can draw a license. The cost of a mule deer hunt is $2,750 for a five day hunt.

In order to hunt, the Spear W Ranch hunters will be required to sign a trespass lease. No guides will be provided, but the ranch will assist hunters with exact boundaries on the property and in the retrieving of game. The ranch can provide transportation to and from the Trinidad airport, and we will provide lodging at an area motel for up to 5 nights. We will also provide a vehicle for transportation to and from the ranch. Game processing and taxidermy are available in Aguilar.

If you are lucky enough to draw a license for any of the 7 Colorado elk or mule deer seasons, we will be most happy to facilitate your hunt.
